Directions
Adults and children 6 years of age and older:
- Use twice a day after brushing your teeth with a toothpaste
- Vigorously swish 10 mL (2 teaspoonfuls) of rinse between your teeth for 1 minute and then spit out
- Do not swallow the rinse
- Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after rinsing
- Instruct children under 12 years of age in good rinsing habits (to minimize swallowing)
- Supervise children as necessary until capable of using without supervision
- Children under 6 years of age: consult a dentist or doctor
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. If more than used for rinsing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Made my oral mucosa layers peel off
After maybe 30 minutes the layers of skin all around my mouth started peeling off. Horrible. Never happened with the alcohol version which I use regularly.

Pretty clean minty
It’s pretty cute because it’s pink, but it also makes your breath really fresh in nice and it’s really good for a mouth wash and I will definitely be buying more I feel like the ingredients would have like mint and stuff.

Mouth skin peels after using Listerine Total Care
I have tried using Listerine Total Care Several Times and each time results in massive peeling of skin inside my mouth. I never had any issue using regular Listerine which I have used for many years. Going back to regular Listerine.

Undoubtedly the best mouthwash I’ve ever used!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used other mouthwash products before but my dentist was concerned that I had too much foam on my gums when I went in for my cleaning. Hygienist recommended Listerine Zero Alcohol Anticavity Fluoride mouthwash and it has worked big time. I use it after I brush my teeth twice a day and don’t drink or eat anything for at least 20 minutes and my gums and mouth feel great all day. No cavities and gums are healthy. Thank you!!!

I noticed that with repeated use of the mouthwash my gums and cheeks have begun peeling layers of skin. I've never had this before with a mouthwash and it's quite disappointing that none of the materials included with the product mention this is a potential side effect. I've discontinued using it right away and dumped the rest of the bottle. Amazed that this stuff if still sold in stores.

Very effective at affordable price
I like the packaging on this and the way it tastes, it's not too strong but works great leaves my teeth feeling very fresh. If you're looking for something that works great at an affordable price I recommend this.

Used the zero alcohol mouthwash and 20 mins later I rubbed my tongue around my mouth and it became coated in cheek skin?!?! Trying not to freak out but still pulling this stuff out of my mouth. So gross. Will never use again.

Leaves terrible buildup/ film
I have used the total care for over a year and accidentally bought this zero alcohol version. It is absolutely gross. My mouth feels like a cotton ball afterward and a film develops. Don't use.

I never leave reviews for products but I thought this was worth putting out there for other people. I used the regular listerine with zero issues, and just recently bought the zero alcohol total care. I have some experience working in the dental field, so it am familiar with what sloughing is— from the looks of other reviews it happens with each use. After my first use, I immediately noticed a weird sensation in my gums and cheeks. I know this was not normal. About an hour after use a slimy film came out of my mouth, which was sloughing caused by the mouth wash. I’m super disappointed because it was money spent that likely will never get returned for a product that should be discontinued. I will not be using it anymore as it is not worth putting myself at risk to more slouching.

I love Listerine brand mouthwash and recently I have been using the zero alcohol one to avoid the burn and after feeling of using the mouthwash. I wanted something that was just as effective to kill the germs but with less harshness to my mouth.

Why is this still available?
I just purchased this and from the first use, have wondered about funny feeling in my mouth and odd stuff along my gum lines. Now that I browsed around for reviews, noticed that many are experiencing the same, PEELING OF SKIN INSIDE MY MOUTH! There are reviews describing the same for over a year, and still this stuff is available! How is this even possible by previously reputable brand!

Love this mouthwash since it's one of the few Listerine zero alcohol washes with fluoride and I have cavity-prone teeth. Never experienced any of the issues other reviewers are talking about, but maybe buy a travel size first to be safe..?

I used this rinse for the first time a couple hours ago and the inside of my mouth is already doing exactly what others are describing in their reviews. Cheeks and gums are peeling and inflamed. It feels gross and a bit painful.

I finally figured out that this product has been causing my oral tissue to slough off. This has left my gums feeling weaker and more fragile. You should pull this product off the shelf asap

Bought this as an alcohol free alternative and because it was ADA certified. After the first use I had terrible sloughing inside my mouth after every use. This is a common issue among reviews which I did not see before.

Gums are peeling after 2 days of use
I used this twice over 2 days and large clumps of gum skin are peeling off. The skin keeps coming off and I’m not sure how to stop it now. Won’t be using this mouthwash anymore.

Extra biofilm in the morning after using at night
My dentist highly recommended this, after using it off and on for a few months now I’ve noticed that when I use it at night I wake up in the morning to a kind of intense clear-ish gooey stringy film on my teeth. From some research I think this is biofilm. It is probably 98% worse when I use it then when I don’t. I’m an open mouth sleeper and when I don’t use it I have basically no biofilm in the morning. Not great and will be trying something different next when I’m finished with the bottle.

Yucky skin peeling
Always use listerine, though I'd try zero alcohol and started waking up with yucky string skin in my mouth. Was considering calling the dentist until I came to check for reviews first and appears to be more common. What a waste of money.

Had zero issues with the regular one, but the zero alcohol one causes pretty intense sloughing. Does not seem right for skin to be peeling off in my mouth. No idea why Listerine kept the product around since this appears to be a fairly common issue.

Mouth is peeling
I bought this product a few weeks ago. Everytime I use it, my mouth peels on the inside and I’m constantly removing skin. I love how it makes my mouth feel clean, but this effect it has is not normal. I’m not interested in continuing use of the product.

Great mouthwash, perfect size for air travel
I like this Listerine mouthwash, I have a bigger bottle and today I got this little bottle from my dental hygienist. It’s 95 ml (3.2 Fl Oz), it’s air travel approved size, TSA compliant. It has fresh mint flavor. It doesn’t burn my mouth. It killed bad breath bacteria. It helps prevent cavities. My mouth feels fresh and clean. I like this size than the bigger one as it’s more convenient to use. I like this mouthwash.
