I used to rarely use mouthwash as the intensity would burn my mouth terribly and I would end up rinsing with water afterwards, despite the instructions saying not to rinse eat or drink for some time after. My dentist recommended Listerine Zero as medication is causing me some dental issues and he said I need to use mouthwash. I was pleasantly surprised that I could use Listerine Zero and I do not need to rinse. I am however somewhat concerned with the sloughing (shedding of gum tissue). This is definitely what it is as my dentist has seen it himself when I went to him for an appointment half an hour after I brushed and used mouthwash. I have always used Sensodyne and never had this happen, so I definitely attribute the sloughing to the mouthwash. He is now looking into why this is occurring. It is not just a little bit either- this is all my gums and inside of my cheeks, however there is no pain, redness or sensitivity, it just feels gross and it happens twice a day. I hope this company looks into this issue as there are many users with this problem and no answers as to why it happens.
